El esquiador va sobre un asiento de fibra de vidrio acolchado con espumas termoformables, sujeto a un chasis con suspensión que va unido a uno o dos esquís, en función de la discapacidad y el equilibrio del usuario.
El esquiador se ayuda de estabilos (muletas con un pequeño esquí en la punta). Éstos se utilizan para el equilibrio, los giros y el desplazamiento en zonas planas.
