EWWS 2026: Catalonia Hosts National Information Session & Workshop on 1 December

The European Week of Winter Sports (EWWS 2026) continues to grow across Europe, and Catalonia is preparing to play an active role. On Monday, 1 December 2025 at 17:00, the Kilian Jornet Foundation (KJF), together with FEEC and DES, will host the official EWWS 2026 Information Session & Workshop at the FEEC Headquarters (Rambla 41, Barcelona), with the option to participate online.

This national workshop is addressed to sports clubs, schools, universities, municipalities, local organisations, and professionals interested in organising activities during the next edition of the European Week of Winter Sports, taking place from 1 to 8 February 2026.

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the EWWS aims to promote physical activity, inclusion, and sustainability in winter environments across Europe. The workshop will introduce the initiative, share successful experiences, and provide practical guidance on how to participate.

What to expect from the session

The event will open at 17:00 with a welcome and introduction delivered by FEEC, the Kilian Jornet Foundation, and DES, who will set the context and objectives of the meeting.

This will be followed by a presentation from DES explaining what the European Week of Winter Sports is, its mission, and the opportunities it offers to organisations wishing to participate.

Participants will then hear from Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, who will share their experience from EWWS 2025, including key lessons learned during the Skimo World Cup in Boí Taüll.

The session will continue with a contribution from the Kilian Jornet Foundation focusing on how to organise sustainable sports events, offering practical tools and examples.
KJF will also present the EWWS 2026 Awards, which recognise the best promotional photos and videos as well as the best sustainable practices organised during the Week.

Towards the end of the workshop, KJF will guide participants through the process of joining the initiative and registering their activities on the official platform, highlighting the benefits available to organisers.

The meeting will conclude with a final Q&A session led by FEEC and KJF, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and clarify next steps.
