With 36 officially submitted events, a total of 2,147 participants—from school-aged children to university students and sports enthusiasts—took part. The diversity of activities ensured inclusivity and accessibility for all.
Key Events by Country
Spain led in participation with a variety of school-led activities and large-scale events, including the School Winter Games in Losa del Obispo and Semana Blanca, which introduced children and youth to skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. The Marxa Beret cross-country skiing event and Boí Taüll’s Skimo World Cup, with 450 participants, reinforced Spain’s growing presence in winter sports.
Bulgaria offered a dynamic mix, with the Winter Relay “Adventure” in Uzana gathering 100 participants. Sofia also hosted activities like the Winter Fairytale event and snowball games, while Chepelare provided ski and snowboard open training sessions, making winter sports accessible to all skill levels.
Italy focused on grassroots engagement, with events such as the Bi Roller Pattinaggio Biella school promotion program and the Heron Winter Camp in Cavalese. Slovenia highlighted its rich winter sports tradition, with activities like cross-country skiing and ice skating in Ljubljana, alongside events like the Zimski Pohod trekking and Traditional Winter Hike.
Croatia made its mark with youth engagement initiatives, including inline skating promotions in schools, while Luxembourg contributed with international junior races and a mixed curling championship. Germany embraced the cold with events like Ice Dippers @ Schlachtensee, where participants experienced winter swimming.
Belgium, Ukraine, and Lithuania also contributed significantly, with Belgium hosting a cross-country run, Ukraine organizing a Be Active Winter Day, and Lithuania holding an international workshop in Vilnius. An EUSA webinar attracted 30 global participants, discussing sustainability and accessibility.
