SUMMARY:EWWS Workshop and national report Lithuania
DESCRIPTION:On February 5\, 2025\, international students from the Erasmus Mundus GOALS program (GOALS\, n.d.) gathered at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU\, n.d.) in Lithuania. These students collaborated to explore strategies for implementing EWWS in Lithuania\, focusing on:  \n\nThe history of winter sports in the country. \n\n\nTheir role within Lithuania’s broader sports ecosystem. \n\n\nThe impact of political regimes on sports development. \n\n\nSustainability considerations and the connection between winter tourism and sports activities. \n\nThe students also examined how Lithuania and neighboring countries successfully organize events during the European Week of Sport. DESCRIPTION:Ski and snowboard hike with harness and splitboard equipment. On February 2\, we will hold the event under the name BEACTIVEWINTER Sunrise Ski Touring and Split Boarding to promote this unique type of snow sports in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains. The event is suitable for a mass audience from 8 to 60 years old\, including people with no ski touring experience. The hike starts early in the morning to capture the magical moment of sunrise\, which at this time is around 7:25 am. We assemble at 6:30 am\, outfit the participants\, and set off in an orderly fashion up the hiking trail. Its gentle incline makes the experience accessible even for complete beginners. SUMMARY:Winter Adventure Relay\, Gabrovo\, 2 February!
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Adventure Relay will include a variety of winter games and activities that promise fun for participants of all ages. Challenges in the relay include traversing a snow maze created using cones\, hats and ribbons\, carrying snowballs across the course with spoons or cups\, traversing a snow tunnel\, throwing snowballs at a specific target such as a bucket or dug-out hole\, pulling a sled with a small weight in it and stacking a winter puzzle at the end of the course. Family relay games will also be organised\, as well as a cross-country race for older groups of children over a distance of around 1km\, depending on weather conditions. A group of children with special educational needs (SEN) will also take part in the initiative. We distinguish ourselves from others because we keep challenging our boundaries. When others ask us about our weekend on Monday\, we proudly tell them that we went ice bathing. And we laugh about ourselves for being so crazy. It feels good not having to do that on your own but to share that outsiderness with others. \nWe prepare ourselves with a controlled hyperventilation and some physical exercise. After the breathwork\, we undress and line up to share a scream together\, releasing any of the built-up nervous tension. \nBring swimwear\,(Bathing shoes are highly recommended)\, a comfortable mat/pad/something to sit on\, a towel to dry off and most importantly a good spirit! \nWe start as usual with the breathing exercise according to Wim Hof and then we go into the water together. \n*Ice Dipping/Cold Dipping is suitable for everyone\, but does require a basic level of health. Out of precaution\, I advise against participation during pregnancy\, or if you are epileptic.
