The Commission for European Walking Routes in Slovenia, in cooperation with its partners, is organising a traditional gathering and hike to the sea along the E12 route. The E12 celebrates its 10th anniversary in Slovenia. On the same day, we will also mark the start of EURORANDO 2026 in Slovenia with a hike. The idea of establishing a pan-European movement called EURORANDO as a traditional European walking event (held every five years, each time in a different country and under a new motto) began after the second EURORANDO event in 2006. These events promote the shared objectives of European tourism and hiking organisations, namely: understanding and protecting the countryside, learning about history and preserving historical traditions and structures, fostering mutual understanding among people from different parts of Europe. The hike will start at 10:00 a.m. in Kozina – Krvavi Potok, following the trail through the Glinščica Valley to Boljunc (Italy). Along the way, we will discover many interesting aspects of our natural and cultural heritage and, through conversations with local residents, enter the wonderful world of a “mountain valley” by the sea. The hike will be led by local guides and will take approximately three hours. From Boljunc, we will travel to the sea, to Muggia, into the realm of the sea. EURORANDO’s motto is: “Back to Nature.” For the closing ceremony, participants are invited to bring a stone from their home, which will be used to create a shared European pyramid.
Duration (days): 1
Venue: KOZINA - KRVAVI POTOK (meja med Sloveniji in Italijo) - Glinščica - Milje
