ENEEGYL Kavala (Special Vocational Junior High and High School) proudly celebrates the European Week of Winter Sport 2026 with a comprehensive 5-day program designed to foster inclusion and physical well-being. Our initiative transforms the city of Kavala into a vibrant sports arena, utilizing local parks, stadiums, and coastal areas to engage our students in diverse activities. The week begins with a unified school walk to Phaliro Park or football matches that emphasize teamwork and social bonding. As the week progresses, the focus shifts to the ‘Anthi Karagianni’ Stadium, where students participate in athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline sessions. These activities are specifically tailored to enhance coordination and physical confidence in a professional sporting environment. Mid-week, our program embraces nature with a hiking expedition to the ‘Grove of 500’, promoting environmental awareness and the benefits of outdoor exercise. This is followed by a unique yoga session at the beach, offering a calm space for mindfulness and emotional regulation. The week concludes at the Municipal Indoor Pool, where water sports provide a low-impact yet highly effective way to improve motor skills and celebrate our collective achievements. Through this event, ENEEGYL Kavala aims to break down barriers, proving that winter sports are accessible to everyone. By integrating sport with nature and community spaces, we are not only promoting health but also teaching our students the values of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the joy of an active lifestyle. This initiative stands out for its deep commitment to Inclusivity, as it highlights that the EWWS is truly for everyone by involving a Special Education school. Furthermore, it showcases a Variety of Environments (Urban, Forest, Coastal, and Indoor) which demonstrates significant organizational effort, while its focus on Sustainability through nature exploration and environmental awareness aligns perfectly with the criteria for the 2026 Best Sustainable Solution Award.
