This inclusive winter learning event, organised by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Arcadia (D.D.E. Arkadias), combines outdoor sport, environmental education, and cultural exploration in the historic mountain landscape of Mainalo. The programme integrates accessible winter activities for all students, including those with disabilities, ensuring meaningful participation through adapted routes, teamwork-based tasks, and supportive facilitation. The activity includes Nordic walking in the mountain forest, an introduction to basic orienteering techniques, and a guided educational hike along the ancient river Elissonas, where students explore the interaction between geography, ecology, and local history. Through field-based workshops, creative reflection, and group collaboration, learners develop physical literacy, environmental awareness, and an understanding of the cultural heritage of Arcadia. The event promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and responsible engagement with nature, encouraging students to connect movement, place, and history in an active and educational winter experience.
