Sustainability Award

Best Sustainable Solution Award - EWWS 2026
Winter sports take place in some of the most fragile ecosystems of our planet. Glaciers, forests, and mountain landscapes are directly affected by climate change, pollution, and human impact. For this reason, sustainability is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity: every action taken by organizers, athletes, and communities can help protect these unique environments for future generations.
The Best Sustainable Solution Award celebrates those who are leading by example – demonstrating that sport can be a powerful driver of environmental awareness and positive change.
Towards a Greener Future in Winter Sports

Celebrate Sustainability in Winter Sport
The Best Sustainable Solution Award is an exclusive recognition for registered organizers of the European Week of Winter Sport (EWWS).

Objective
Our goal is to highlight the most impactful and creative eco-friendly practices implemented during EWWS events and inspire other organizers across Europe to adopt sustainable approaches in mountain and winter sport settings.

Who Can Apply
This award is open exclusively to EWWS 2026 event organizers who:
- Had their event approved and published on the official EWWS website
- Completed the Post-Event Form by the deadline
- Filled in the optional sustainability section
Participation is free and voluntary, but only complete submissions will be considered.
How To Apply

Complete the Post-Event Form after the event
To participate, organizers will simply need to complete the Post-Event Form, which will be published on the EWWS website once the event week has ended.
Inside the form, there will be a dedicated section on sustainability where you can share the initiatives you implemented. You will be asked to briefly describe how these actions were carried out, highlighting both the results achieved and any challenges you faced along the way.
We also invite you to upload between one and three photos that best illustrate your sustainability efforts. If available, you can enrich your submission by adding links to extra materials such as videos, press articles, or flyers. Finally, you will also have the option to include short testimonials from stakeholders or participants, providing their perspective on the impact of your initiatives.
